Iran 'Bystander' to be screened in Turkey

Iranian Animation 'Bystander' has been scheduled to go on screen at the 29th edition of the Istanbul International Short Film Festival in Turkey.

Directed by Sheida Kashi, 'Bystander' is a cinematic depiction of a society that does not tolerate differences and is heading for total destruction.

In the flick, an old man spends days looking through a window from where he sees the people of his country are out in the streets to revolt. He who has once been an active revolutionary is now numb to all that happens around him.

Meanwhile, as he witnesses the uproars through his window, his past memories flicker in his mind.

The animation has, so far, attended several international festival including the 18th 'Picture This' film festival in Canada and the 2018 Adelaide International Women's Film Festival in Australia.

According to the Istanbul International Short Film Festival website, the gala is the longest running and most experienced organization among the International short film events in Turkey.

The latest edition of the festival is slated for December 14-21, 2018.
